This adventure will start at Uxmal, an ancient Mayan city, located at 80 kilometers (24.8 miles) from Merida. Uxmal reflects the greatness of the Puuc art (puuc meaning “mountainous”). Declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Center in 1999, the pre-Hispanic Town of Uxmal holds the highest point you could be in the state, only at 210 meters high above the sea-level. Amongst its most popular buildings we can find the Governor’s Palace, the Nunnery Quadrangle (Cuadrángulo de las Monjas), the Pyramid of the Magician, and others.
In due course, we will visit a pretty unconventional, it has been given an interactive approach since its foundation: the protagonists are YOU! The concept relies on the rescue of the history of the cacao; you’ll be surrounded by cacao trees from a custom-botanical garden along for the ride. To wrap-up and conclude: a lovely meal at a traditional restaurant from the area (food expenses: not included).
